He is presently a Pediatric Oncologist, Assistant Professor in Residence. Clay’s career is focused on research and finding a cure for childhood cancer while also caring for children with cancer. He is married with one daughter.
Pierre met Clay in February 2015 on the second day the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Mission Bay Campus opened and just shortly after Pierre found out that his cancer was back. Pierre loved and trusted Clay. “I was Pierre’s Oncologist. My research is focused primarily on neuroblastoma, the tumor that Pierre had and he was one of my very favorite patients. His bright smile and mischievous charm made caring for him a pleasure. He was a brilliant, energetic young man who also did a small research project in my lab. I’m honored to contribute even a little bit to his legacy through the Birthday Fund.”
