Advisory board director

Michele received her Bachelor of Arts from Tulane University and a M.A. and Ph. D. from the University of California, Berkeley. Michele was Pierre’s high school advisor and met Pierre his freshman year. They became friends and Pierre enjoyed spending time together after school.

After Pierre was diagnosed, Michele was a companion at the hospital or at Pierre’s home and he especially enjoyed having tea together. Michele taught History and History of Art in the Upper School of the Head-Royce School for 27 years. She is presently retired. Michele has one son and enjoys reading, walking, needlepoint and cats and dogs.

“I met Pierre through his brother Andrew whom I taught in 2009. When Pierre arrived at high school, he was a member of my homeroom. His wit, imagination, and consideration of others continue to inspire me, and I feel lucky to help continue his legacy of providing joy to others.”
